Our mainstay quickie dinner recipe

Everybody's got one of those go to quickie meals for when you've been busy all day and suddenly realize it's 6:00 and you have no idea what to make for dinner. Mine is what we call nachos. They're technically NOT nachos, more of a chili sauce sort of thing but, you know.....

Anyway, I brown some hamburger with some onions, garlic and a couple hot peppers of whatever sort I have laying around. Then I add an 8 oz can of tomato sauce, enough beef broth to almost fill the skillet, a bit of cilantro, some cumin, mexican oregano, sometimes chili powder, sometimes not. Also some of  those hatch chilis I fermented earlier. Let it simmer a couple of minutes or more, depending how hungry everybody is. :) Then I thicken it. I prefer to use masa for the flavor, but use flour when I'm out of masa. Use whatever you generally use. Then we spoon that over chips or cornbread and add toppings of our choice. Generally around here that's sour cream, cheese, olives, some more fermented chilis and green onions and tomatoes if they're available. Generally ready in about 20 minutes, a little more if the hamburger was frozen.

Good stuff!
