My old barn boots were having some serious second thoughts about finishing out the winter. The foot part was fine, but the uppers, not so much. Every time I pulled them one, pieces would come off, they were getting shorter by the day. I finally bought a new pair, but I kind of hate to just toss halfway good boots. So, I turned them into shoes instead.
First I cut off the uppers.
Then I sewed a cuff around them. Probably not necessary, they are ratty old barn shoes, but I don't want things falling apart any faster than they have to. I would have preferred a darker fabric, but this is what I had. Stylin', no?
Then I cut myself some insoles from some scraps of sheepskin I had laying around. These are now slip on barn shoes. They're awesome! Well, as long as the snow isn't too deep.
Stylin' YES! You do such fun things. I bet they are comfy.
ReplyDeleteThey are surprisingly comfy! :) They still make me crack up when I wear them with their bright blue/purple tie dye cuffs.
