Just finished up another couple of knitted Christmas presents for a couple of kids. First is the snake scarf. I made it up as I went along and it's not fancy, but it's soft and warm and vaguely resembles a snake. I really wanted to use this pattern,
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kureopatoras-snake, and stick a snake head on it, but I couldn't do it in such a way that looked good and not tacked together. I'm sure it can be done, but I'm not up to that skill level yet.
Next is the hat. This is for an older kid and so is a bit big on the 3 year old model. :) It's very soft and warm! I used this pattern -

It's nice and stretchy and accommodating to a varying size of heads.
