A dog, a wound, some silver and some honey

A couple of our dogs got into a scuffle Friday night. Why do they always do that sort of thing on a Friday night or Saturday morning when you can't get to the vet? Anyway, it wasn't really a big deal as there was only one wound, a small puncture on a foot. The only real danger was from infection. I just washed it off, saturated the area with colloidal silver and then put on a pad with honey and wrapped it up. I did that all weekend and it's healing beautifully!

I've just recently started experimenting with colloidal silver and so far I'm impressed. I've just used it topically so far, but in every case, it's been impressive. They've only been small things, but infected hangnails or scratches and such have always cleared up with an application of silver. I usually spray some one and then cover with a bandaid overnight but even  the longer scratches that aren't covered by a bandaid have done well. I figured between the silver and honey, infection didn't stand a chance, and so it was.

Here's the wound after 2 days. I wish I'd thought to take one at the first, but I was busy getting it taken care of and didn't think of it.

It's looking good enough and healing up so fast that I think I'll leave off bandaging it anymore. Although this dog has been pretty good, there's always the risk of the dog chewing the bandage off and ingesting it or causing more damage. I've had that happen before. The dog is walking on the foot and keeping it pretty clean so I think it will scab up shortly and do just fine. I'll just keep her inside mostly til it does scab over.

While I try and get animals to a vet when possible, sometimes it's not possible and it's good to know a few things that can at least help til I can get to a vet.

  1. We recently ordered a supply of colloidal silver but have not had an opportunity to try it out yet. Your
instant first aid apparently was right on target. Now I'm more ready than ever to use it on the next emergency case (dog, cats, or us).

    1. I haven't used it on anything 'big' yet, but I wouldn't hesitate. I have been very impressed with it so far! Every time I have put it on an inflamed, infected area it has cleared things right up.
