While I haven't done a lot on the subject, you may have noticed that I tend to prefer alternative medicine when possible. Once again, it has saved the day!
So, a couple weeks ago I pulled a boneheaded move and broke my toe. I was trying to empty a 100 gallon stock tank that was half full of ice. I flipped it over a log and at one point the bottom edge slipped off the log and landed on my big toe. It really hurt! I grabbed oldest and and we finished flipping the tank over and dragging it out of the pen and then I went inside to inspect things.
It swelled up pretty good and was really rather painful. I started taking homeopathic arnica every few minutes and in about half an hour, it didn't hurt anymore unless touched or bent. Yay! The next morning I started homeopathic symphytum to help it heal quickly. In 3 days, I was able to start doing animal chores again, although I avoided any that required me to actually go in the pens. I didn't see any sense in pushing my luck. :)
While I still have to be careful not to kick it or do anything that requires digging my toes in ( have you any idea how often we do that?!) I can drive again and do most of what I need to do around here. I love homeopathy!!
Can you believe I've almost made it to 40 before I got my first broken bone? I hope it's not the start of a run of them.
This is not any sort of medical advice, nor do I advise you to skip doctors. It's just a story about what happened to me.
