For Fun, Random Garden Pics

It's been a cold, wet spring here, so the plants are still in 'early spring' mode, but things are growing! Here are some miscellaneous pictures, just to prove that I had a garden that was doing well before it gets hailed out, a definite possibility around here.

This is one of the beds that you can see in this previous post, http://senselesslyrandom.blogspot.com/2014/02/dreams-of-summer-and-gardens.html . It has lettuce in the far end, some beets and carrots scattered through out, a few peas and a lot of happy dill. The trellis was for the peas, but something is wrong with them this year, they are all stunted and curled up on themselves. Too bad, the kids love to come out and snack on fresh peas from the garden.

At least the broccoli is fairly happy. The garlic behind it is doing pretty well, too. The rest of this bed was hot peppers, but a mid June frost did most of them in. A few are trying to come back, so we'll see what happens.

Horseradish in front and comfrey in back.

One of the marionberry plants. They are absolutely LOVING the cold, wet spring!

One of the raspberries.

My oldest apple tree, it's been planted 4 years ago now I believe. It had flowers this year for the first time, but nothing else was blooming at that time, so no apples this year. But the potential is there, yay!

One of the herb beds. Lemon balm in this closest corner, behind it sage and behind that a catnip plant. To the left of the lemon balm is a chive plant, all the broad leaf plants all over are broadleaf plantain. Now that they are established, the reseed themselves where ever  they want, and I generally let them.

Youngest with some of the early garden bounty.

And because one can always use a good cat picture, here's oldest child's feline, hard at work.
