Spring is such a busy time, isn't it? I spent the weekend tilling and planting somewhere around 300 onions. Naturally, this morning it's 20F out there. When the sun comes up I need to go see how they fared. I also planted 7 fruit trees, unloaded 2 tons of wheat, dug up some horseradish to transplant out in the pastures and had some turkey poults hatch under the broody turkey. Unfortunately, she somehow lost them all. She is marked for the freezer now since it's her second offense. The goatie girls are all swelling up like toads and should start kidding in a couple of weeks. I just looooove baby goat season! Hopefully there will be some girls in there that I can sell for hay money.
I have bees coming this morning. That will be nice, I haven't had any in a couple years. Hopefully these ones will stick around and thrive. I always like to have a couple of hives around. Theses ones will go in the top bar hive. I need to finish my modified Perone hive and get that going as well.
The dandelions have started really blooming so I need to get my potatoes planted as well. Hopefully today, maybe tomorrow. Need to get them in before the forecasted (and much needed) rain arrives midweek. Save a little bit on my well.
So, how's your spring going?
