Easter Eggs

So, Easter snuck up on my, as usual. Friday I realized that Easter was Sunday. So I steamed some eggs for the kiddos and Saturday we dyed them. Oldest asked if we could tie dye them since we hadn't done that for a few years. Sure, no problem!

It's easy to do and makes some neat looking eggs!
All you have to do is add a dollop of oil to your container(s) of dye, no matter what kind of dye you use.

Here you can see some of the oil on the water. I just use olive oil since that's what I have but you could use any sort of cooking oil or probably even mineral oil if you wanted. Then you just put the egg in different colors for a few minutes at a time. Sometimes my kids like to wipe the egg off between cups, but I'm not sure it makes any difference.
