More spring stuff

Well, with the nice spring weather we've been having, I've been busy with all the spring chores. Fun stuff like fencing, cleaning the garden of all the weeds that blew in over the winter, working on my paths some more, etc. Stuff that keeps you busy but isn't the least bit interesting.

Baby season is almost upon us as well. The cow, if she's pregnant, is due any day and my goats start popping in 2 weeks. We have some chicks that we bought in a nursery pen in the barn and I'm waiting impatiently for a turkey or two to go broody. I also need to butcher last years chicks, but I manage to keep finding excuses to put that off.

One thing we have actually gotten done is a project for the kid(s) that should have been done three years ago. Oh well, better late than never. Saturday was beautiful, sunny and in the 70s F. We mostly finished the play fort thing. Good thing, Sunday it was 30F and snowed about 4". Today is sunny and 50F. It's a muddy mess out there.
Here's youngest child entertaining herself yesterday during the storm. She inherited her sister's paper doll collection recently and just loves it!

Spring is beginning in the garden as well. I have lettuce and radish seedlings coming up and the  way the rhubarb is growing, I should be able to harvest that in a couple weeks or so. Can't wait for that!

What's spring doing in your area?
