Redneck Kitchen Utensils

I am so up with the times, I tell ya. I found an old 1950s ish deep fat fryer in a thrift store the other day and since it was a whole $2.50, I decided to splurge. I usually fry in a skillet since I'm cheap but I though this would be way more convenient and possibly less messy. I was right!


I really like my new toy but it did come without a handle on the fryer basket. So, I had to make do. Thank goodness for vice grips! My poor husband just rolled his eyes at me when he saw my latest theft from his tool stash. And yes, I washed them first.

I tell ya what, though, this thing makes killer onion rings! ;)
