Fried Pumpkin Flowers

Have you ever tried fried pumpkin flowers? It's an annual summer treat for my kids. You can fry any sort of squash flower, but pumpkins are what we grow so that's what we eat.

You're supposed to pick the flowers just before they open, but I never quite make that so I just pick fresh, open flowers. They're still good!

I pick them and head right to the kitchen. Mix up an egg with a wee bit of milk and some flour with whatever seasonings you like. I use garlic powder, pepper, salt, chili powder, cumin, etc. Then fry it in hot bacon grease, or whatever you oil you like. Eat them as hot as possible and enjoy!

I think you're supposed to remove the green parts, but I don't bother, I just use that part as a handle, kinda like a shrimp tail.
